Stay Schemin (Acoustic Cover) – Mike Posner and Blackbear

If a genie granted me three wishes, one of them would be for Mike Posner to be as attractive as his voice is. Posner and Blackbear cover Rick Ross’s Stay Schemin featuring Drake and French Montana (off of Rich Forever). You know that French Montana verse you hate on the original track? Conveniently eliminated. Holler. Bitch, you wasn’t shootin’ with me in the gym.

Friend Of The People: I Fight Evil – Lupe Fiasco (Mixtape)

When it comes to analyzing Lupe’s work, it’s probably best to separate lyrics and beats. According to his track record, they are two different worlds. No argument that he’s got a few killer electro beats,  Lightwork (feat. Ellie Goulding and Bassnectar “Lights remix”), is pretty great. And, we can’t ignore the fact that he puts in quite the effort when it comes to lyrics. However, I was expecting monumental improvements in contrast to Lasers. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a few tracks I’ve got playing-WWJD He’d Prolly LOL like WTF!!!-I’ve been diggin’Lyrically, he’s known for taking shots at controversial issues. Check out all the dissected lyrics over at Rap Genius, and you can download Friend of The People here.

Wonderwall (Feat. Big K.R.I.T.) – Mike Posner

If you don’t like Oasis, you can leave. If you know me, which you don’t, you’d understand my love for old school samplings and Mike Posner’s voice (no direct correlation). I’m going to try not to go off on a tangent but- his voice… Damn, just-hey boy, damn. If only he looked the way his voice sounds. Back to business, it seems like everyday there’s a new and even better leak off of The Layover, which drops 11/20. This one, featuring Big K.R.I.T, is my favorite thus far.

Blow Up – Sam Adams

Just to reassure you, yes, this really is Sammy’s newest track, it’s actually him. At first listen, I was a little confused, no dub? no electro hip-hop? But, it’s good to see an artist with his following wait it out to change the pace. Sammy goes in over The Pixies’ Where Is My Mind? (off the album Surfer Rosa, circa 1988). Personally, seventeen year old me really thrived for laid back tunes like this, so I’m definitely a fan for this new-sounding single from Mr. Adams. #BANGBANGSAMMYGANG

I’m The Man – Play-N-Skillz

When I was told “you’re going to not be able to not nod your head to this song” I was all like: Mmmhmm, surrrrre Playboy. Play-N-Skillz, nod my head? I wasn’t sold. But then, (insert corny climatic music here) my head was boppin’. Perfect song for driving around to. I personally choose to pack my car with all my insanely hot college rommates and we just cruise around the greater New York area. PNS upcoming project, Red October, set for October 31st.

Young, Wild, and Free (ft. Bruno Mars) – Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg

The original version leaked a few months ago, and this final mastered version was leaked today. What is different, you’re asking yourself- the answer is Bruno Mars on the hook. Listen before you judge, it’s pretty good. Grab it for free.
