Meet The Team

Becky Bolton: Founder, Blogger, Mom – You know that eighteen-year-old former prep school chick that writes for GoodMusicAllDay? Yeah, I’m that one. Before all of that, there was this–a blog I started during finals week of my junior year of high school at Montclair Kimberley Academy in New Jersey. Not your average hip hop enthusiast, but over the past year I’ve proven myself in the underground hip hop scene to be a talented blogger, promoter, manager, and professional listener. I’ve assembled an incredible team of people to help me run this site; to be honest, they’re all probably more qualified to be doing this than I am. Now at Butler University double majoring in Recording Industry Studies and Business. Wish me luck, God knows i’ll need it.  Anyways, I’d like to wrap this up with some words from my idol Kanye West:  ”My presence is a present, kiss my ass.”

Bridget McCusker: Business Representative, Blogger – I am 18 years old and currently a freshman at Bucknell University. I have always had a passion for music, and from a young age I had my Walkman filled with the latest CDs from my favorite bands. Although my love of ’90s pop music eventually faded, towards the end of middle school I was introduced to a different genre from that decade–rap. After hearing Biggie and Tupac, I was officially converted to a hip-hop junkie, and I’ve never looked back. I will be overseeing S17 along with Becky Bolton, mainly working on the business side of things. However, I’ll be writing some features here and there. Hope y’all enjoy!

Jihad Harkeem: Graphic Designer – I usually wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy, lol jk, more like Yeezy… anyway, I’m Jihad.  For those of you who don’t know me (for whatever reason, I know not), I am currently a student at a school in a state.  When I’m not studying, like the diligent student I am, I’m usually doing whatever I can to have a good time.  When it comes to music, I’m a fan of just about anything and everything.  My main purpose here is for my artistic expertise, but I like to think its because I’m an overall boss, and the only thing better than five bosses working together is six and a half (I count as 1.5, of course)

Adam Smith: Editor-in-Chief – I dig long walks on the beach, a nice glass of Chardonnay, and time spent staring into my significant other’s eyes… sike. I’m Adam, I’m a Chicago native and a senior in high school; my life is baseball, hip-hop and other assorted music, writing, and doing hoodrat stuff with my friends–hopefully, I’ve got something in common with you. I’m hyped about writing for S17, and bringing y’all the finest beats every day, so make sure to make a trip over here whenever you’re jonesing for a music fix. Swag, peace, and much love.

Sarah Davis: Blogger – What up world? I’m a sophomore currently attending The University of South Carolina. That’s right, born and raised in the South, but I promise my music will not reflect it. I’m going to keep this short but I’ve always been the go-to friend for music, constantly updating others iPods and iTunes. The reason why I started my own blog (ig13music) and am now writing for S17, so I can keep y’all up to date with what I’m listening to. Like Weezy said: “Feed me rappers or feed me beats.”

Alex Meyers: Blogger – What’s good, everyone? I’m a 17-year-old Junior currently attending Brooks School, a prep school in New England. Ever since I heard Eminem as a little kid, I’ve always been listening to music. Recently my passion for it has taken off. I’m extremely into music of all kinds, void of country, especially hip-hop, techno, and indie pop. I’m on the pursuit of good music and spreading the joy it brings people. There’s something to be said about taking a chunk out of a busy day with a pair of headphones and some good tunes. I’m here to bring you the finest beats and vocals modern music has to offer. I will be a writer, thus featuring chill songs on a daily basis. I’m stoked to be a part of the s17 team and hope you have same desire for good music that I’ve always had. Cheers and Stay Frosty, Alex

Andy Volosky: Blogger – Hi. I’m Andy. I’m a freshman at Cornell, where I’m planning on majoring in Communications ASAP so I can make some money from this writing thing. I’ll listen to just about anything, to be honest with you. There ain’t no itch that my iTunes can’t scratch… except for country. I hate country. So, follow me @EyeCandyAndyV and if you have a submission, gav26@cornell.edu.

Dana Bergmann: Blogger - Alrighty, I don’t really have any suave opening line so I’ll get right down to it. Former lax chick, but I consider myself a laxer for life. Music is one of the two things I take seriously. Grew up listening to the Beatles, the Who, and Jimi Hendrix (my great vinyl collection). That’s where my sick obsession with music was cultivated. Since then I have become a fiend for a sick beat, mastered lyrics, and dirty mashups… Been told many times that I have a “weird taste in music”, I pride myself on that. Yes, I am that white girl that bumps hip-hop when I drive because everyone in the neighborhood should hear it. Boom. Follow me on twitter @DanaBergs

Mike Williams: Blogger - Shalom.  My name is Mike. Williams.  I’m currently a pre-med student (bio and psych double major) at the University of Pittsburgh, but when girls ask me what my future is going to hold, I tell them that med school is my back-up plan.  You may laugh, but in a twisted way that is the truth. I currently manage two incredibly talented artists and have big plans for them. You wonder why blogging about music is appealing to me?  Let me answer.   Whether if it is dusting off a Sonny Rollins album from my dad’s collection, or downloading the newest J. Cole release, I can never get enough good music to rattle my eardrums. If you know me, I’m either listening to music or somehow trying to work it into a conversation. I am very opinionated and try never to hold back my thoughts.  With that being said, I am (usually) always right and I have impeccable taste, so I hope you enjoy my posts.  Also, follow me on Twitter—I’m funny— @miWILLIAMSke

NEW LUPE is a FIASCO

Aside from being the longest title in history, this is quite the album to listen to.

I chose to do an early review because it leaked. Yes I will buy the album when it comes out, and I’ll do reviews of bonus tracks and all that good shit once everything is official. Let’s get started. Also, since this is a leak I can’t provide links to the songs as I do in my other reviews so sorry for that.

ALSO Lupe drops quadruple entendres and shit that I may not catch, so I might under analyze this. Don’t hate.
